The ability to dodge an opponent often makes a very large difference during combat. Like armor, dodging can be considered another form of damage prevention. Instead of reducing damage, you can just avoid damage in general.
There are two major factors that control dodge chance:
- Class
- Dexterity. The only exceptions to this rule is a Cleric of Kamira, whose chance is based on piety.
Rankings Based on Dodge[]
The other determinant of dodge chance is your class. The following lists the rankings of classes, from highest to lowest, of the bonus chance to dodge.
- Rogue
- Thief
- Fighter/Thief = Mage/Thief = Mage/Assassin
- Mage
- Assassin = Ranger = Cleric/Assassin
- Bard = Paladin = Deathknight = Pureblood = Monk = Cleric
- Berserker = Fighter
Reminder: Please consider that DEX plays as much of a role as classes bonuses do. While a class may be ranked lower on the list, the amount of DEX they receive (whether from leveling or general stats) may very well make them dodge better than a class ranked higher than them.
